Health coaching sessions where I listen deeply, and support you on nurturing your health when you're feeling stuck. That means? I've been there with my own health challenges, I know what it's like to feel vulnerable. So when you tell me you've been struggling, feel absolutely (*expletive*), and things have started to feel blunted, I will see you. I provide a high-trust, calm space to help you re-nourish and move through behaviours, and the moment you're in right now. Maybe around eating habits, skipped meals or sleep. Or getting confidence and boundaries back up. But this won't be a Pollyanna Perfect dynamic and I'll have your back if you do that to yourself.​

Hi, I'm Jo,
If you've found your way to my website, then you are probably feeling pretty dreadful with the combined impact of chronic stress, low energy, sleep issues, menopause and wondering where that confident, vital 'you' has gone. You are not dreaming it; the way stress impacts you is changing. This situation can be really challenging, and is not talked about nearly enough. There is zero shame in visiting the burnout club. You are very warmly welcome here.
I have walked this walk. When I started perimenopause, it triggered painful endometriosis symptoms, but I didn't know that I had this condition - it took some years to get medical answers. I went into 'soldiering on', chronic stress mode trying to handle this alongside day to day life. In addition to the impact of feeling physically unwell, my emotional wellbeing took the hit too. I had no idea what was happening to my body, or how significant these changes to my health really were. I was exhausted, sleep deprived, was in monthly chronic pain, and I started to become burned out. At work I powered on, but quietly behind the scenes, my spark had been evaporating. Worst of all for me, I kept forgetting nouns and referring to everything as 'thingy' (thank you, perimenopause). My energy for reading novels - which has always been my ultimate form of enjoyment - started to diminish. Hormonal change, an undiagnosed inflammatory condition, life and work stress all collided. My life of the mind and energy were disintegrating.
My health journey led me to years of research on inflammatory health conditions, chronic stress, and menopause, so I could understand how to support my health. I went on to train as an accredited Nutrition and Health Coach, studying at the International Institute of Nutritional Health. The education, knowledge and tools I gained, and the changes I made to my own nutrition and lifestyle transformed my health, self-acceptance and confidence. I'm now approaching fifty, and am passionate about women's wellbeing. I'm on a mission to help women to thrive in a meaningful way. I now have my nouns back and sleep again (give or take the odd rubbish night, which I know to roll with).
The Flourish Programme is the structured, holistic, evidence-backed approach that I wish I'd had when I felt confused and blind-sided by what was happening to my health and my stress load. It is built around the fundamentals of menopause transition, including hormone changes, blood sugar management, digestion, and the role of nutrition, movement and self-care. It has a specialist focus on burnout recovery, navigating chronic stress, and relieving sleep issues.
So together, we will attend to what really matters to you. There will be no fad diets, wellness gimmicks, hype or unhelpful overload. We will work on gentle but radical shifts to fit the reality of your life. When I'm your nutrition and health coach, I not only bring cutting-edge, geeky insights and tools, but also heartfelt, pragmatic understanding shaped by my own health story.
So I'm right here for you. I am looking forward to working with you, sharing my knowledge, staying grounded for you in the tough moments, and seeing you thriving again, on your own terms, in a way that works just for you.
